Veterans Heal from Dialogue

During a recent post show discussion a Vietnam Veteran ("Sgt. Jon Doe") was able to disclose his traumatic wartime experience for the first time in 35 years! "Sgt. Jon Doe"--accompanied by his wife now in tears--was so physically shaken from theatre's catharsis that it marked the beginning of his therapeutic process. Thanks to the well trained staff at the Return to Honor Program men and women like "Sgt. Doe" can begin to heal from the embracing support of a caring, listening community.
"PIECES OF WAR" publicly (and gently) invites soldiers to dialogue with us so theatre can become a gateway to community recognition, healing and personal reintegration. Our partner program at The Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge offers a unique training program helping them to incorporate leadership skills that help them to recognize, reunite and reintegrate into their community upon returning home.
